Larner, Betty Marie of Flushing, age 90, died Saturday, June 27, 2015 at The Sugarbush House. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2015, at Rossell Funeral Home. Rev. Janet Larner will officiate. A private burial will take place at Flint Memorial Park. Visitation will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home until the time of the service. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Flushing Presbyterian Church or a charity of your choice.
Betty was born in Chesaning, Michigan on January 3, 1925, the daughter of Fay and Gertrude (Williams) Saxton. She married Gerald Larner in Chesaning, Michigan on September 7, 1946. He preceded her in death on September 26, 2003. Betty was a member of the MSU Extension Club. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed summer activities including, boating and bike riding. Betty was a licensed beautician. In her younger days, her hobbies included clogging and square dancing. Along with her husband, they helped build the Flushing Playscape and the Playhouse for Habitat for Humanity. She was an active member of Flushing Presbyterian Church and the children's program, Logo's at the church. Betty most recently enjoyed growing new friendships while living at Sugarbush House.
She is survived by her children, Allan and wife Cathy Larner of Gaylord, Jacqualine and husband Dennis Klipa of Midland, Elaine Johnson of Columbia, South Carolina, Cindy and husband Mark Bills of Grand Blanc; three grandchildren, Amanda (Aaron Gazarek) Johnson, Christopher Bills, Autumn (Bernard) Starks; and great-granddaughter, Chloe Bills. |
