BOLTON, Mary Agnes (Krizan) – of Flint, age 97 passed away January 4, 2013 at Avalon Hospice. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 12 NOON Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, G-5199 Richfield Rd., Flint; Rev. Fr. Carl A. Simon celebrant. A private burial will take place at Resurrection Cemetery, Chesaning; Pastor Jim Nelson officiating. Visitation will be 2-8 PM Monday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the Mass on Tuesday at the church. A Scripture Service will be held 7 PM Monday lead by Pastor Jim Nelson at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Swartz Creek, Holy Rosary Catholic Church or Avalon Hospice.
Mary was born in Oakley, MI on February 27, 1915, daughter of the late, Frank and Mary (Podolan) Krizan. She married LaVern J. Tithof who preceded her in death. Mary then married Jay F. Bolton who preceded her in death. She worked at General Motors for 18 years, retiring from AC Spark Plug in 1978. Mary and Jay retired to Prudenville where she was a DOE at the Elks Club and a member of their Colorguard. She was a charter member of the Gold Wing Motorcycle Touring Club, Chapter A. After her husband, Jay passed, she returned to Burton and was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
Mary is survived by her children, Robert (Marianne) Tithof of Florida, Donald (Mary) Tithof, Kenneth (Lorrie) Tithof , Elaine Lawson and Mildred (Robert) Delay all of MI; 19 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great grandchildren; brother, Frank Krizan; sister, Frances Jurecka. She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, James Lawson; granddaughter, Marianne Tithof. Mary’s family would like to extend a heart felt Thank You to Cranberry Park Assisted Living, Avalon Hospice, Holy Rosary Catholic Church and their Women’s Luncheon Ministry and Pastor Jim Nelson.
