CHAPIN, John P. – Of Davison, age 75, died Saturday, January 26, 2013 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at the Central Church of the Nazarene, G-1261 West Bristol Road, Flint, Pastor Steve Gibson and Pastor Dave Hintz officiating.
Cremation will take place following the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Central Church of the Nazarene Youth Department.
Visitation 3-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. Mr. Chapin will be at the church from 11 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the service.
John was born in Bay City, Michigan on December 15, 1937, son of the late Hugh and Isabel (McNichol) Chapin.
On September 7, 1968 he married Dorothy Cleary.
He was a member of Central Church of the Nazarene. He was a founding member of the Back to the Bricks in Flint.
Mr. Chapin was in the pinstriping and sign business since 1955 in the Flint area.
Surviving are wife, Dorothy;
son, Jason (Christy);
two grandchildren, Tyler and Connor;
brother, Hugh Chapin;
sister, Mary Beth Blake;
several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by brother, Archie Fenton.
