SIMON, James A. – of Burton, age 71, passed away Saturday, September 27, 2014 at McLaren – Flint. A Funeral Liturgy, with Military Honors, will be held 4 PM Thursday, October 2, 2014 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Rev. Fr. James Sheridan celebrant. Cremation will follow the service. Visitation will be from 11 AM until the time of service on Thursday. A Rosary will be prayed at 3:30 PM Thursday prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
James was born in East Chicago, IL on May 14, 1943, son of the late Nicholas and Mary (Dokes) Simon. He married Samira Joubran on June 30, 1992. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. James proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged on May 18, 1966. He was a member of the American Legion Post #0225.
James is survived by his wife, Samira of Burton, MI; daughter, Tina (Marvin) Adams of Plymouth, IN; grandson, Kyle James of Plymouth, IN. He was preceded in death by brothers, Billy and Jack.
