LONG, James E. – of Clio, age 77, died Monday, April 4, 2016 at McLaren of Flint. Funeral services will be held 11AM Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Messiah Lutheran Church. 520 Butler St. in Clio. Pastor Erik Cloeter officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. Family will receive visitors at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio Tuesday from 4-8PM and at the church on Wednesday from 10AM until the time of service at 11AM.
James was born May 19, 1938 in Flint, Michigan to the late James and Rema (Kelly) Long. He married Peggy Palmer and they shared 54 years together before her death February 6, 2013. James was a business manager for Park Plaza Medical Group for 35 years before retiring. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Clio. James enjoyed all sports, especially golf. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving are: 2 sons: Jim (Jennifer) Long and Jeff (Marci) Long; 5 grandchildren: Brett, Kristen, Bryan, Jeffrey, and Jared; 2 brothers, Bob and Larry; 3 sisters: Marlene, Nancy, and Jeanine; Brother-in-law, Phil.
