BAILEY, Billy Joe - age 73, of Flint, died Monday, September 23, 2013 at Genesys Health Park. Services will be held 9:30 AM Thursday, September 26, 2013 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Interment will follow at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Visitation will be held 1-4 and 6-9 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the The USS EDSON (DD-946) museum ship c/o the Saginaw Valley Naval Ship Museum, 3727 Wilder Road, Suite B, Bay City, MI 48706. Mr. Bailey was born January 27, 1940 in Marston, MO, the son of Hurchel N. and Betty I. (McGee) Bailey. He married Linda Lou Thompson on November 26, 1958 in Charleston, MO. Mr. Bailey was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving on the USS Edson. He was a General Foreman for Mead Containers and loved movies, especially Westerns, was an avid sports fan and loved spending time with his grand kids. Surviving are: wife, Linda; three children, David Bailey and wife, Heather, Dawn Black and husband, Tim Berry, Gregory Bailey and Kim Coalson; special friend who was like a daughter, Linda Stevens; seven grandchildren, Dan (Jennifer) Black, Max Black, Nick Black, Montana Bailey, Lela Bailey, Clayton Ross, Andre Sellers; great grandson, Shane Church; brother, Ray Bailey and wife, Verla; many nieces and nephews.
