Barbara Jean Richardson, 76, of Lapeer formerly Madison Hgts, died Wednesday February 26, 2025. She was born November 16, 1948 in Flint to parents Donald and Eldora (Mattice) Richardson. Ms. Richardson received her bachelors in primary education and English from Michigan State University.
She was a beloved teacher at former Maple Grove Elementary, Lapeer, for over 30 years, retiring around 2006. Barb was a long-term member of Hunters Creek Community Church. She really loved puzzles, traveling, dark chocolate and her cats. Barb will be missed by all who knew her as well as huge number of former students she impacted.
Ms. Richardson is survived by her family: Rene, Steve, Wally, Andrew, Sheldon, Devon, Avery, Theodore and Montagne as well as her brother: Ronald Richardson of MS. She was preceded in death by her brother: Bob Richardson and her aforementioned parents.
Her visitation will be 1:00-4:00pm Sunday at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. Barb’s funeral will be 11:00am Monday March 3, 2025 at Hunters Creek Community Church officiated by Pastor Jole Caminiti. Her family will receive visitors the hour prior to the service.
