ROBERTSON, Billy J. – Age 82 , of Swartz Creek stepped from this world of pain and suffering to a heavenly home to be with his Lord and Savior forevermore on Friday, December 22, 2017 at his residence, with his family by his side. He had made his reservation for this trip at the age of 18 when he accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. Billy’s greatest desire was that all his family, friends and loved ones would know Jesus as he did.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Central Church of the Nazarene, G-1261 West Bristol Road, Flint, Pastor Rob Prince and Pastor Steven Anthony co-officiating.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Visitation 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Mr. Robertson will be at the church from 10 a.m. Thursday until the time of the service.
Born Feb 18, 1935 in Stoneville, NC to Willie W. Robertson and Bernice Reid Robertson. Billy came to Michigan in 1953 to work for General Motors for 32 years. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Olva Jean Severt Robertson, daughters Judy Ann Kintner (Lindsay) of Waterford, WI; Barbara Kay Robertson of Swartz Creek, granddaughters Kristina Kay Baxter (Joel) of Waterford WI; Brittany Elizabeth Winer Young (Derek) of Gaines, MI, great grandchildren Kyle Jacob Baxter; Kaitlyn Marie Baxter and Milyana Jean Baxter of Waterford, WI. Sisters Betty Manuel (Buster) of Madison, NC; Dorothy Davis Gary of Kernersville, NC, Shirley Pulliam of Madison, NC; Linda Kallem (Jimmy) of Mayodan, NC; Susan Tilley (Jerry) of Winston-Salem, NC, Sister-in-law Jaynette Robertson of Columbus, MS, and brother Lynn Robertson (Linda) of Sandy Ridge, NC.
Billy was preceded in death by his mother and father, 4 brothers, Walter Robertson, Tom Robertson, Ed Robertson, Vance Robertson and 3 sisters infant Nellie Robertson, Mattie Robertson Tilley, Mary Ruth Robertson McLaurin, sister-in-law Hazel Robertson, and also grandson Kyle Michael Kintner.
To all the nurses, doctors @McLaren Hospital we honor you. Special thoughts and blessings upon Dr. R. Salimi, Dr. V. Peram and Dr. A. Goldberg. May God bless and keep you all.
We could not have made it through these last days without the wonderful care of Heartland Hospice, nurse Kim and CNA, Tom who compassion and caring was awesome.
