Mrs. Jewel Bray was born May 7, 1938 in Greenville, Ga. the daughter of Joseph and Carrie Williams, Sr., where she graduated from Greenville High School. She worked as a nurse’s aide at a hospital in New Jersey and a Lunchroom Mother at Jefferson Elementary School in Flint. She helped anyone she could with her love of cooking and feeding others. She loved dancing.
She leaves to cherish her memory; daughter, Gloria Powell, 4 sons, Michael, Kenneth, Darryl, Sr., and Willie (Maxine Perry) Bray all of Flint, 19 grandchildren, Najha, Darese, Michael, Jr., Kenneth, Jr. Keneisha Bray, Leontray and Montina Weston, Jerry Powell,Jr., Ebony Dennis, Equanda Swift, Hasan Martin, James and Antwon Armstrong all of Flint, George Bray of Lawrenceville, Ga., Thomas Bray of Paxton, Ill. and Cleotha Fuqua of Jackson.Tn., Shauntel Lewis and Marlena Bray of Indiana.
29 great grandchildren, sisters, Thelma Weems of Flint, MI., and Carrie Bussey of Greenville, Ga., A host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends including special friend, Sheryl Ford. Mrs. Bray was preceded in death by her sons; Anthony and George Bray, grandson, Darryl Bray, Jr., Parents, sisters, Leanna Watson and Ethel Parks, 4 brothers, Milton, Joseph, Render and John Williams and son-in-law, Jerry Powell, Sr.
