John Wilbur Myers Sr., age 73, passed away Thursday, December 22, 2016 at his home in Lupton, MI. He had lived in Lupton for over 25 years, formerly of Millington, MI. John was born on September 30, 1943 in Flint, MI to Raymond and Pearl (Sanders) Myers. He married Gladys Mae Bentley on October 8, 1961. John enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing horseshoes, baseball, working on the farm, and spending time with his family. He also enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers, Red Wings, and watching football, especially the Lions. John was into Johnny Cash music and John Wayne movies.

John is survived by his children, Brenda (Marty) Laaksonen of Sault Ste. Marie, MI, John (Dianna) Myers Jr. of Burton, MI, Christine Fountain of Lapeer, MI, and Daniel (Nikki) Myers of Saint Johns, MI; grandchildren, Sandra, Fred, Kimberly, Natasha, Nicole, Katie, Jeremy (Megan), Robert, Travis, Tiffany (Jeremy), and Hunter; 15 great grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren on the way; brothers, Gerry, George, and Dick (Jane). He is preceded in death by his wife, Gladys; parents, Raymond and Pearl; and 6 siblings.

Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch, MI will begin on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 3:00 p.m. Chaplin Randy Brokaw will officiate.
