Ouellette, Elaine Ilona (Ross) of Flint, age 89, passed away April 14, 2020. A graveside service will take place, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband Stanley Thomas Ouellette at St. John Catholic Cemetery in Davison. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Burton, MI, where Elaine was a faithful member.
Elaine was born in Eben Junction, MI on June 11, 1930. Elaine graduated from Eben High School in 1948, where she medaled in track & field. She found work as a housekeeper in Detroit, MI during the summers of her high school years with her cousin Viola. In Chicago, she worked at the Forum Cafeteria as a server and at Michigan National Bank for 2 years as Manager of the Proof Department. She married Stanley Ouellette on September 17, 1949 in Munising, MI and afterwards they resided in Flint, MI where they raised their four children. She was both an Avon Sales Representative and a Mary Kay Consultant for 10 years. For 4 years, Elaine was Vice President of the Board for the Senior Citizens at the Silver Spur Ranch in Apache Junction, AZ, where they wintered for many years. Over the years, she led and participated in many bible study groups. Her “heaven on earth” was working in her beautiful flower garden. She loved spending time with her family, traveling, and enjoyed music and dance.
Elaine is survived by her four children, Gale Ouellette, Mark (Linda) Ouellette, Brad (Cathy) Ouellette, and Annette Monroe (Mike), whom all miss her dearly. Her grandchildren are Scott (Brie), Michelle (Andy), Melanie, Eric (Beth), Joshua (Leanne), Dr. Steven, Lindsey (Bryan), Adam (Elaina), Kenny (Kayela), and Danny (Brooke). There are 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Vivian Matteson and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Stanley Ouellette, grandson Marcus Ouellette, brothers Leslie and John, and her parents Frank Victor Ross Jr. (Rosendahl) and Helmi Elisa Herrala.
