REID, Gene J. – of Lapeer, formerly of Davison, age 96, passed away November 30, 2016 at Lapeer County Medical Care Facility – Suncrest.
A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. Burial will be in Meadowview Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 3-8 PM Friday and 10 AM until time of service on Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lapeer County Medical Care Facility Auxiliary.
Gene was born in Decatur, Indiana on October 26, 1920, daughter of the late George and Eva Alice (Weaver) Fravel. She married Albert M. Reid on December 6, 1941 in Napoleon, OH and he preceded her in death on December 20, 1990. Gene was a life member of the VFW # 4087 Auxiliary of Davison, member of the Eastern Star Davison Chapter # 299 and member of F.O.E. Aerie # 4080 of Imlay City. She was employed by AC Spark Plug before retiring in 1980.
Gene is survived by her sons, Dave (Bonnie) Reid and Ray (Penny) Reid; grandchildren, Paula Gill, David L. Reid, Jr., Robert Reid and Darby Weaver; great-grandchildren, Brandon, Nathan and Danielle Gill, Heather Villanueva, David A. Reid, Natalya Reid, Burke and Reid Weaver. She was preceded in death by daughter, Carolyn Green; grandson, Bernard L. Green, Jr.; granddaughter, Dodi Reid.
