ELDRED, Rollo F. – of Flint, age 86, passed away Monday, October 6, 2014 at Genesys Health Park. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Saturday, October 11, 2014 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Pastor Bruce Garner officiating. Entombment will be in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 5-7 PM and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Rollo was born in Broomfield Township, MI on June 11, 1928, son of the late Emery and Bessie (Secor) Eldred. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. Rollo married Betty Huss on August 6, 1982. He worked for GM Ternstedt and Inland Fisher Guide Plant. Rollo was also a home builder. He belonged to the American Legion Post in Florida, where he assisted with funeral honors. Rollo also belonged to the Moose Lodge and the Elks Lodge in Florida. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and snowmobiling.
Rollo is survived by his wife, Betty; children, Arthur and Donna (David) Matejcek; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Jeanie (Larry) Gatz; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 3 sisters.
