SMEJKAL, Frank P. – of Burton, age 78, passed away December 27, 2015 at McLaren – Lansing. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 12 NOON Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, G-5199 Richfield Rd., Flint; Rev. Fr. Roy Horning celebrant. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be 12-4 PM Friday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. A Rosary will be prayed at 1 PM Friday followed by a Memorial Service under the auspices of the Knights of Columbus 3rd and 4th degree at 1:30 PM. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the Mass on Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
Frank was born in Owosso, MI on June 14, 1937, son of the late Frank and Mary (Turschan) Smejkal. He married Maureen Kazmierski on August 3, 1968 in Bay City. Frank was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, a 4th Degree Member of Davison Knights of Columbus #4090 and Life Member of The Bpo Elks-Flint #0222 for 49 years. He enjoyed traveling, golfing, playing cards and casino trips. Frank also served in the United States Army. He worked for General Motors as a Financial Analyst before retiring in 1992.
Frank is survived by his wife, Maureen; daughter, Nikki Oleksinski and husband, Nicholas and their children, Alex, Colin and Noah; son, Kevin Smejkal and wife, Cristina and their children, Lila and Trent; sister, Jean (Frank) Yanik; sister-in-law, Marilyn (Richard) Stachowiak; four nieces and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Ethel (George) Jancarik and grandson, Mason Oleksinski.
