WHARRY, Orville “Jim” – Of Flint, age 87, died Saturday, June 30, 2012 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 5, 2012
at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor George H. Warson officiating.
Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery with a military graveside service under the auspices of Marine Corps League Flint Detachment #155 Honor Guard.
Visitation 10 a.m. Thursday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Orville was born in Pittsburgh Illinois on September 12, 1924 and was a resident of Flint.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He married Marian F. Wallace in Flint in 1945.
He was a pilot since 1951.
Mr. Wharry retired as a salesman from Tom Ryan Distributors.
Surviving are sons, Jim and Karen Wharry of Garland TX,
Ralph and wife Laurene Wharry of Battle Creek, MI;
grandchildren, Pat and wife Sara Wharry, Pam and husband Mark Johnson, Brad Wharry, Ryan and wife Laura Wharry and Jackson Jason;
one step-granddaughter, Courtney;
6 great grandchildren;
brother, Ralph and wife Jenny Wharry and
brother-in-law, Buzzy Wallace;
He preceded in death by his wife, Marian on March 3, 2011; sister, Ella Mae and husband Nick Calandro; brothers-in-law, Arthur, John and Howard and sister-in-law, Thelma.
