LaPORTE, Marilyn J. – Of Flint, age 87, died Sunday, June 14, 2015 at Genesys Regional Medical Center.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, G-3139 Hogarth Avenue, Flint, Father Robert F. Copeland officiating.
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Pius X Catholic Church.
Visitation 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
A Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. LaPorte will be at the church from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the Mass.
Marilyn was born in Ludington, Michigan on February 14, 1928,
daughter of the late Julius and Goldie (Mavis) Chavalia.
She loved to play Bingo, travel and crafting.
Surviving are husband of 68 years, Larry M.;
children, Kathy, Marlene and Terry LaPorte and Sandy Grades;
eight grandchildren;
four great-grandchildren;
two brothers, Eldred and Richard Chavalia;
sister, Emma McGuire;
numerous nieces and nephews.
