Bell Porter Robinson - Age 92, of Grand Blanc, died Monday, August 4, 2014 at Genesys Health Park. Mr. Robinson was born February 2, 1922 in Bossier City, Louisiana the son of Daniel and Mary Robinson. Bell received the keys to the City of Flint for operating a business in the city for over 50 years. Bell was a very generous man supporting the North End Soup Kitchen, Salvation Army and Teen Challenge in Flint. He was recruited by United Fruit Company to come to Michigan as an expert in purchasing fresh fruits and vegetables. There he met the love of his life Alvina Bogucki whom he married in 1946. They had five children who all survive him, Mike (Jerri) Robinson, Mary Jo (Ray) Landers, Marsha (David) Puckett, Marilynne Robinson and Roger Holbrooks, Matt (Melodie) Robinson; grandchildren, Dan Whirley, Andrew (Tonya) Coon, Sara (Nathan) Robinson-Pease, Shana Robinson, Tiffanie Robinson, Arielle Robinson; sister, Sadie (Don) Braun of Arizona; many nieces and nephews. Bell was preceded in death by his wife Alvina in 1991. Friends may visit the family from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc, MI. The Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, August 7, 2014 at the funeral home. Father Jonathan Perrotta and Pastor Chris Vitarelli will co-officiate. Entombment will follow at Flint Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Capitol Ovarian Cancer Organization, 103 Wimbledon Ct., Frankfort, KY 40601. C.O.C.O. is a non-profit organization that raises funds for public awareness and research at the University of Kentucky Markey Cancer Center.
