BARKER, Naomi R. - Of Alterra Nursing Home, formerly of Davison, age 84, went Home to be with Jesus on Saturday, October 27, 2012.
Funeral service will be held 11am Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Pastor Donald Frey officiating.
Burial in Flint Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions may be made to South Flint Church of the Nazarene.
Visitation 1-3pm and 5-8pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
Naomi was born in Dayton, Ohio on October 20, 1928, the daughter of the late John and Susie (Pennwell) Fritzler. She married Richard Barker on August 11, 1948 in Flint and he preceded her in death on July 30, 2005. She was devoted to her family and worked for Roving Volunteers in Christ Service along with her husband for 11 years, following his retirement. Naomi enjoyed singing with anyone who wanted to join in while at Alterra Nursing Home. She was a member of South Flint Church of the Nazarene.
Surviving are children, Richard (Bethany) Barker, Susan (Mark) McKone and Marilyn Barker;
7 Grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren;
2 brothers and 2 sisters.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Idella Porritt and Carolyn Worley and brother, Marion Fritzler.
