FENT, Myrtle – of Montrose, formerly of Flint, went peacefully to be with her Lord on Thursday, December 26, 2024, at Covenant Healthcare of Saginaw. Funeral service will be held at 1PM on Friday, January 3, 2025, at the Montrose Global Methodist Church – 158 E. State St., in Montrose. The family will receive visitors at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose on Thursday, January 2, 2025, from 3PM until 8PM and Friday at the church from 12PM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Montrose Global Methodist Church.
Myrtle was born December 21, 1933, in Flint, to the late William Jerke and Ruth (MacGillivray) Sizemore. She married her beloved husband, Jack Fent, on July 11, 1953, at the Montrose United Methodist Church, and together they shared 58 years of marriage. Jack preceded her in death on December 7, 2011. Myrtle worked at Montrose Community Schools for several years and later retired as a shipping clerk from Severance Tool. She was an avid member of the Montrose Global Methodist Church, formerly the Montrose United Methodist Church, for over 70 years. Myrtle enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting, and traveling. She adored her family, especially her two granddaughters, Heather and Amy, and cherished every moment making memories with her loved ones. She was loved by many and was even known as Grandma Myrtle by the students at Montrose Schools. The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at Covenant Healthcare for their compassion and care during Myrtle’s time at the hospital and in her final days.
Myrtle is forever remembered by: Son, Brian (Roberta) Fent; Grandchildren: Heather (John) Fickes and Amy (Andrew) Zietz; Great-Grandchildren: Avery and Adalyn Zietz; Siblings: William (Delores) Jerke, Judy (Wally) Kirkland, Charles Jerke, Rose Mary Hassenzahl, Patricia Curtis, and Michael Jerke; Sister-in-law, Trudy Fent; Special friends: Ron (Kaye) Draper, Bob (Amber) May, the Belill Family, and Rachel Goodman; Many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family, and wonderful friends. Myrtle was preceded in death by: Husband, Jack R. Fent; Son, Jack D. Fent; Grandson, Jonathan; Parents, William and Ruth; Siblings; Delbert Jerke, Earl Jerke, Jackie Jerke, Edith Confer and Mickey Nelson; Daughter-in-law, Cindy. |
