Age 83, of Flint, MI, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 17, 2024.
Patricia was born and raised in St. Joseph, Michigan by her parents Ann and Dick Mashke in the brown house on the corner of Howard Avenue and Lakeshore Drive. The pursuit of college took Particia to Michigan State University where she studied art history and literature. It was at MSU that she met her husband, Charles “Bud” Schwartz. Bud and Patty made the move to Flint to begin their life as a married couple in the heyday of the General Motors boom. It was in Flint that they built their life and welcomed their two children, Jon and Aimee.
Whether you knew her as Patty, Pat, or Patricia there were several things that always held true about her. She was intelligent, sharp, beautiful, and inquisitive. She loved reading, art, and collecting. She loved her St. Joseph and Flint communities with great pride. She was a fixture in Fenton Hills subdivision for fifty plus years, and most recently at The Oaks at Woodfield. She was well known for her chocolate chip cookies, oatmeal muffins, and spaghetti on Christmas Eve.
She is survived by her children, Jon and Aimee, both of Grand Blanc, Michigan; her younger brother, Richard (Pam and niece Kimberly) Mashke of Leland, Michigan; close cousin Jim (Gloria) Mashke of Grayslake, Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her husband, mother, and father.
Cremation has taken place and per her wishes she will be shared with nature.
