Jones, Mr. A.J. age-68 passed away Saturday March 5, 2016 at Kith Haven Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held at 11am Saturday March 12, 2016 from the Chapel of the Martin J. Banks Funeral Home Evangelist Kamisha Flaggs officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10am for visitation. Mr. Jones will repose in the Chapel of the Martin J. Banks Funeral Home Friday and maybe viewed until 6pm.
A.J. [Thomas] Jones was born Mr. Oscar T. Jones and Mrs. Katherine Jones [ Goodlow] July 2, 1947, in Lake, Mississippi. He relocated to Flint, Mi at the age of one. He was educated in the Flint Community Schools, Jefferson Elementary, Emerson J. High School and the graduating class of 1965 Northwestern High School. A.J. was known by his family as “SONNY BOY”. He was formerly employed at Fisher Body Plant #1. He moved to Iowa in 1978 for 2 years and then to California until 1986. When he returned to Flint he opened his business C.H.I. Enterprise as an Acupuncture Specialist until his motorcycle accident November 2013. A.J loved clothes, classic cars and motorcycles.
A.J. leaves behind his children Mrs. Kinya [John]Williams, Mr. Jemien Jones, Ms. Jene Jones all of Flint, Ryehean [Lea] Jones of Wyoming Mi, and Egypt Walters of Clarksdale, Tennessee. Mother of his children,Ozella Jackson, 13 Grandchildren; Kindre’ [Cierra], Kia, Kameron, Kalistra, John Willliams, Marvin Gray lll, Trent Willis, Jemien ll Devin, Nathan Jones, Haven, Sincere, and Edyn Walters. 4 Sisters May Ella [Jones] Perry of Flint Mi,Angela [Mario] Lindsey of Jackson, Mississippi, Eleasha Gray of Stockbridge, Ga,Kamisha [Jerome] Flaggs of Haslett, Texas, 4 Brothers Mr. Terry Smith of Haslett, Texas, Mr. Oscar Thomas Jones II, Mr. Hammed Jones, Mr. Kareem Jones all of Atlanta,Ga. A.J. had a special bond with his nieces Mrs. Katherine Miller, Damika Perry, TAUTEECE MILLER, AND MEON STUBBS, HIS SPECIAL NEPHEWS ANDRE, DALE,SHERROD and Perrin Perry spending all their lives in his presence as their favorite uncle. He also leaves numerous other nieces and nephew and many great nieces and nephews. He leaves 3 aunts Mrs. Emma Belt, Mrs. Nettie [Grant] Fleming of Flint Mi, Mrs. Hilton Gordon of Vicksburg Mississippi. Uncle Mr. Joe Louis[Carrie] Jones of Flint, Mi. also an abundance of cousins, The Jones and Goodlow Families. Special Life Long friend Mr. Darwin McMullin, special friends Mr. Dennis McGowan and Mr. Wesley Gray. He was preceded in death by his parents Mr. Oscar Jones Sr. [Hanefah Rashad], Mrs. Katherine [Edward] Carr. 2 sisters Mrs. Gladys [Leon] Stubbs, Mrs. Delrita Jones, 2 Brothers Kevin Rashad, and Lester Kurt. 2 nephews Dere Jones and Jalen Jones. Niece Veronica Miller.
