Philip Leo Bissonnette "Joe", age 78 gf Swartz Creek, passed away November 23rd, 2019. He was born November 16th, 1941, in Grand Blanc, Michigan to parents Ernest and Daphine Bissonnette. Those preceding him in death are; his parents, grandparents William and Mary Bissonnette, Howard and Elsie How; brother Leroy Bissonnette; sister Rita (Bill) Rupp. Philip married Carolyn Allen on October 15, 1960, they were married 59 years. On their 50th Anniversary, their children gave them a beautiful anniversary party and they went on a special cruise to Hawaii with his brother Norman (Dean) Bissonnette and his wife Tonya. Phil retired from General Motors Chevrolet V-8 in 1991 with over 31 years, then farmed their centennial farm and raised beef cattle. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather to his family. He was a talented woodworker and made beautiful furniture pieces. Philip was a member of St. Matthew's Anglican Church in Lapeer.
Philip is survived by his wife Carolyn Bissonnette; son Scott (Cindy) Bissonnette; daughter Brenda Bissonnette; six grandchildren, Kristen Jones, Frank Mason, Phillip (Brenda) Bissonnette, Amanda(Dan) Spees, Carolyn Braaten, TJ Braaten, 13 great-grandchildren, brother Dean(Tonya) Bissonnette and several nieces and nephews. As well as his beloved support dog, Jackie.
Friends may visit with the Bissonnette family on Tuesday, November 26th from 4-8 p.m. at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors - Capstick Chapel in Lapeer. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 27th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Matthew's Anglican Church, 220 W. Nepessing Street, Lapeer, MI 48446, where memorials may be made in lieu of flowers or to the American Lung Association. Rev. Colleen will officiate. A luncheon at the church will immediately follow the service. Private burial will take place at Crestwood Cemetery in Grand Blanc. |
