HOWD, Erma Mary - age 77, of Gaines, died Friday, October 21, 2016 at McLaren - Flint. Funeral mass will be celebrated 11 AM Friday, October 28, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 9450 Duffield Rd., Gaines with Rev. Fr. Jonathan Perrotta celebrant. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-8 PM Thursday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek where a scripture service will be held at 7 PM. Visitation will also be held from 10 AM - 11 AM at the church on Friday. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society. Mrs. Howd was born December 31, 1938 in Flint, the daughter of John and Irma (Vida) Dodock. She married Richard Howd on March 2, 1957. Mrs. Howd was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Lions Club. She enjoyed and taught ceramics and also enjoyed quilting. Surviving are: husband, Richard of Gaines; four children, Sandra Howd (Rex McIntyre) of Millington, Rick (Pamela) Howd of Linden, Brian Howd and Lori Howd, both of Gaines; 8 grandchildren, Tyson, Ian, Kyle, Eli, Jon-Claude, Trevin, Alex, and Malina and many great-grandchildren; sister, Lena (Phil) Weld of Stanwood, MI; brother-in-law, Gary (Gay) Howd of Linden; sister-in-law, Connie Dodock of Orangevale, CA; niece and nephews, Gina, Guy, Greg, Cathy, Michael, Janice, Julie, and Jason.
