WAYNICK, Velma Mae - Of Flint, age 85, died Monday, May 29, 2017 at Hurley Medical Center.
Funeral service will be held 2pm Saturday, June 3, 2017 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Reverend Steve Brown officiating.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Veterans Administration, St. Jude’s Childrens Research Hospital or Last Chance Rescue.
Visitation 12pm Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Velma was born in Flint on April 6. 1932, the daughter of the late Oscar and Mary Louise Cryderman (Gower). On July 15, 1950, she married John Waynick in Flint. She was a member of Bray Road Baptist Church and North Oaks Community Church.
Surviving are daughters, Lynn and husband Stephen Craighead, Colleen and husband Mike Duncan;
1 granddaughter, 2 grandsons and their wives;
and 5 great-grandchildren;
many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Kaye Waynick.
