Lyle F. Kennedy, age 78 of Flint, passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2016. Lyle was born on October 13, 1937 in Flint to parents David and Esther (DeLong) Kennedy. He proudly served in the US Army during the Vietnam Era. Lyle retired from the Department of Public Works for the city of Flint after many years. He enjoyed the outdoors, working on his yard and tinkering in his shed or garage. He also had a love for all cars and could tell you anything you would ever want to know. He was a friend to everybody who knew him and he loved his family more than anything. Lyle is survived by his wife of 57 years, Vivian Kennedy; daughter, Kathleen Kennedy of Burton; granddaughter, Ashleigh Callahan of Hawaii; siblings: Richard (Sandy) Kennedy and Judith McCulley; special nephew, Chuck; special nieces: Stephanie and Gloria; and several other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by both parents; siblings: Jack, Glenn, Gene, Robert, Jay, David, Irene, Joan, and Lewis; in-laws: Matthew and Stella Marshall. A funeral service will be held at 11am on Monday, October 10, 2016 at Reigle Funeral Home (5501 W. Pierson Rd., Flushing). Visitation will take place on Sunday, October 9, 2016 from 1-8pm. Interment at Flint Memorial Park. |
