CIMBALIK, William S. -- Age 84, of Swartz Creek, died Friday, September 7, 2012 at his residence. Funeral mass will be celebrated 11 AM Monday, September 10 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Swartz Creek, Fr. Nate Sokol celebrant. Interment in St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-8 PM Sunday, with a 6 PM Knights of Columbus Rosary and 7 PM Vigil service at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Visitation Monday will be at the church from 10 AM until the time of the mass. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the Swartz Creek Food Pantry or charity of choice.
Mr. Cimbalik was born January 21, 1928 at home in Swartz Creek the son of George and Suzanna (Dzurak) Cimbalik. He had resided in Swartz Creek all of his life. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He married Amelia Justynski on May 24, 1952 in Flint at Sacred Heart Church. He retired from General Motors with 41 years of service. Mr. Cimbalik was a member of St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church.
In 1975 he obtained his private pilots license. Bill enjoyed bringing people together. He enjoyed playing cards with friends and lunches with his classmates and fellow retirees. Surviving are wife of 60 years, Amelia; five children, Daniel and wife Diane of Flushing, Anne and husband Rick Beebe of Swartz Creek, Nancy and husband John Ocenasek of Swartz Creek, William and wife Catherine of Grand Rapids, James of Swartz Creek; three grandsons Eric and Brett of Flushing, Stephen of Grand Rapids. He was preceded in death by his parents; son Stephen in 1983; three brothers; and two sisters. The family expresses sincere gratitude to the entire medical team that cared for Bill; and beloved friends who supported him and his family.
