PETTEY, Barbara S. (Kovacs) - Of Burton, age 64, died Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at her residence.
Funeral service will be held 2 pm Saturday, June 9, 2012 at New Life Christian Fellowship, 2237 East Reid Road, Grand Blanc,
Pastor Bob Roberts officiating.
Cremation will take place following the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute at giving@karmanos.org
Visitation 5-8pm Friday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Barbara will be at the church 1 pm Saturday until the time of the service.
Barbara was born in Flint on April 27, 1948, and was a resident of the Flint area all of her life. She married Jerry Pettey on March 12, 1971. Barbara was a member of New Life Christian Fellowship where she ran the library.
Surviving are husband, Jerry;
sisters, Vickie Michelson and Connie (Wes) Weaver;
brothers, Elek (Marti) Kovacs and George (Kim) Kovacs;
sisters-in-law, Joan (Steve) Hutchinson, Judy (Jerry) Gann and Donna Darby;
several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elek and Victoria Kovacs and brother-in-law, Ronald Michelson.
