SCHOTT, Leonard – Of Burton, age 82, died Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at Heartland Healthcare Center-Briarwood.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 7, 2013 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Dale Lewis officiating.
Burial Evergreen Cemetery with a military graveside service under the auspices of VFW Chevrolet Motor Post #3087 Honor Guard.
Those desiring may make contributions for the wishes of the family.
Visitation 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. and 4-8 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday until the time of the service.
Leonard was born in Oran, Missouri on February 22, 1931, the son of George and Mabel (Cowger) Schott.
He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
On September 28, 1959 he married Sarah McFadden.
He loved the St. Louis Cardinals, enjoyed golfing, playing pool, going out to eat and spending time with family.
Mr. Schott was employed by AC Spark Plug Division for 40 years and was a member of UAW Local #651.
Surviving are son, Terry of Flint;
daughter, April Miller of Fenton;
grandchildren, Christy (Brent), Leslie (Missy), Amos, Amy
(Brian) and Rocky, Jr.;
brother, Tom (Sylvia) Schott;
many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah; sons, Rocky and Ricky.
