ZAFIROFF, Chris - Of Flint, age 92, died Sunday, May 15, 2016 at
Caretel Inns of Linden.
Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday, May 20, 2016 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Inurnment of cremains at Great Lakes National Cemetery at a later date.
Visitation 12 p.m. Friday until the time of the Memorial Service at the funeral home.
Chris was born in Lorain, Ohio on March 8, 1924, the son of John and Anna (Stoikova) Zafiroff.
He married the love of his life, Glenda on November 27, 1947 in Flint.
Chris was a veteran of World War II, 82nd Airborne.
He was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans and Masons.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, dancing with his wife
and spending winters in Florida.
Surviving are wife, Glenda;
sons, Chris Zafiroff,
Kurt (Sharon) Zafiroff and
Greg (Terry) Zafiroff;
daughter, Kim (Brian) Alexander;
grandchildren, Michael, Emily and Ryan;
great-grandchild, Miles.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Anna Zafiroff; brothers, George Zafiroff and Samuel Zafirau.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill or charity of one’s choice.
