WILSON, Gary D. - Of Swartz Creek, age 66, died Thursday, January 12, 2012 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, January 14, 2012 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Pastor Hal Phillips officiating.
Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery with a military graveside service under the auspices of VFW Post #822 Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the following, Adopt-A-Pet, Fenton, South Mundy United Methodist Church – Grand Blanc or the Loose Senior Center in Linden.
Visitation 12 noon Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Gary was born in Flint on October 6, 1945. He graduated from Swartz Creek High School, Class of 1963. Gary served his country in Viet Nam in the United States Army, Spec 4. He was employed with General Motors Fisher Body for 25 years, retiring in 1987. In December 2010, he opened the Creek Arcade in Swartz Creek. He enjoyed Corvettes, his dogs and pinball games.
Surviving are sister, Kathy (Button) Metivier and husband Joe of Linden;
many cousins;
dogs, Larry and Curly;
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Gertrude Button.
Gary was very kind hearted, caring, generous and a very loving brother.
