MERRITT, Clara B. “Pete” – Of Flint, age 89, died Sunday, December 11, 2016 at Genesys Regional Medical Center.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 15, 2016 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Ronald Osborn
officiating.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Visitation 2-8 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m. Thursday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Clara was born in Flint, Michigan on February 18, 1927, the daughter of Charles and Nora (Kobel) Adams.
On November 28, 1950 she married Frank W. Merritt in Angola, Indiana.
She loved her family and her life was dedicated to them.
Surviving are two children, Bruce and wife Linda Handley, Connie and husband Ron Osborn;
daughter-in-law, Janet Handley;
several grandchildren and great-grandchildren;
two sisters, Marie (Rubert) Tarrence and Irene (Stewart) Gerow;
sisters-in-law, Joan Cockerton and Maxine Merritt;
several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Frank W. Merritt; son, Steve Handley; 7 brothers and one sister.
