JONES, James T. – of Lapeer, MI, age 100, passed away Monday, April 22, 2019. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Pastor Shawn Kook officiating. Private interment, with Military Honors, in Great Lakes National Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 4-8 PM Friday, April 26, 2019 and 10-11 AM Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Faith Baptist Church, in Jim’s memory.
Jim was born in Memphis, TN on July 26, 1918, son of the late James T. and Katherine R. (Russell) Jones. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps. Jim married Phyllis Johnson on April 9, 1944 and she preceded him in death on March 11, 2018. Jim was employed with Chevrolet and retired from General Motors Service Parts Division in 1978 after more than 30 years of service. He was an active member of Faith Baptist Church. Jim also enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Jim is survived by 4 children, Russell T. (Paula) Jones, Roderick C. (Patricia) Jones, Shelley K. Nikoloff and Gregory S. (Debbie) Jones; 10 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by grandson, Paul Nikoloff; son-in-law, John Nikoloff and sister, Audrey Jones.
