Teresa (VanRiper) Lindsey, age 61, formerly of Durand passed away February 24th in Ocala, FL. She is survived by her mother Bessie VanRiper of Durand, her husband David Lindsey of Ocala, FL, her brothers Duanne VanRiper Jr. of Perry, Rick VanRiper of Lennon, sisters Carolyn Navarro of Durand, Karen (Dale) Cole of Bancroft, Becky (Dean) Simonds of Jenison, sons Dale (Penny) and Ray (Jennifer) Lindsey and five grandchildren Melissa, Ashlee, Jessica, David and Michael all of Ocala, FL. She is predeceased by her father Duanne VanRiper, Sr. of Durand.
Teresa graduated from Durand Area High School in 1968 and went on to graduate from the Hurley School of Nursing in Flint as a Registered Nurse. She was the Administrative Supervisor for the night shift at Munroe Regional Medical Center in Ocala where she had worked for 24 years.
She was five years old when she told her mother that she was going to be a nurse when she grew up. She fulfilled this dream and nursing was her love.
Teresa married David in March 1988 and they made their home in Ocala.
She enjoyed needlework, reading and sewing. She had a quiet soul and loved the Lord.
Teresa will be missed by her family, friends, and co-workers.
She will be laid to rest at Crestwood Cemetery in Flint.
