LUCY, Phyllis Sybil (Taylor) – of Grand Blanc, MI, age 85, passed away Saturday, January 25, 2020. A Funeral Service will be held 1 PM Thursday, January 30, 2020 at Glad Tidings Tabernacle, 4475 South Linden Road, Flint, MI 48507; Pastor Brian Oswald officiating. Interment immediately following the service in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 4-8 PM Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423 and 12-1 PM Thursday, January 30, 2020 at Glad Tidings Tabernacle.
Phyllis was born in Midland, MI on December 19, 1934, daughter of the late Thomas and Doris (Abdella) Taylor. She was raised by her grandparents, John and Eva Palmer. Phyllis married Maurice Paul Lucy on June 9, 1956 and he preceded her in death on September 11, 2013. She was a member of Glad Tidings Tabernacle for 76 years. Phyllis enjoyed crafting, playing games, the accordion, the piano and especially loved family gatherings. She was also a gospel singer with the The Family Heirs and was the matriarch of the family.
Phyllis is survived by 5 children, Kathy Brackenridge, Cindy (Greg) Bonnell, Melissa (Mark) Neumann, Michael (Nicole) Lucy and Jennifer (Pete) Cabala; 11 grandchildren, Kristopher, Kayla, Amy, Clarissa, Nicole, Kelsey, Kyle, Olivia, Eva, Peter Jr. and McKenzie; 10 great-grandchildren; 3 siblings, Peg Longstreth Benner, Carol Alder and Sam Abdella; many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Maurice Paul Lucy; 6 brothers, Cyrus Taylor, Charles Taylor, Frank Taylor, Tim Taylor, Kim Abdella and Gary Abdella.
