GAVULIC, Dorothy Ann - Of Grand Blanc, age 76, died Sunday, February 28, 2016 at Brookdale Memory Care.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30am Thursday, March 3, 2016 at The Church of the Holy Family, 11804 S. Saginaw Road, Grand Blanc,
Father Gary Koenigsknecht officiating.
Burial in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Visitation 2-8pm Wednesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. A Rosary will be prayed 7pm Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Visitation at 9:30am Thursday at church until the time of the Mass.
Dorothy was born in Flint on August 16, 1939, the daughter of the late Patrick and Alma (Holdorph) Fisher. On February 8, 1958, she married Laurence Gavulic in Flint and he passed away June 19, 1988. She owned and operated Curtis, Bucks and Royal Gardens flowers for over 50 years. Dorothy was a member of The Church of the Holy Family and was on the Altar Society at St. Francis Catholic Church for many years. She lived in Miami, Florida with her husband until his passing in 1988. Dorothy loved her flower gardens and loved listening to the birds and listening to music, dancing and traveling.
Surviving are children, Carmen Skidmore, Laurence (Lorie), Andrew (Melany), Gail (Jim) Polehna, Dean, and Kevin (Wendy Davis);
grandchildren, Holly, Craig, Morgan, Madison, Kelsey, Kyle, Lauren, Nick, Noah, Molly, Amelia, Gabriella and Maria;
2 brothers, Charles (Pat) Fisher and Richard (Amy) Fisher;
many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Rita Newman, Pat Force, Mary Trombley, Margaret Lash, Harry Warner, Ernie Warner, Fred Warner, Lawrence Warner and son-in-law, Mark Skidmore.
