LaMay, Terry Lee of Flushing, age 78, died Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at McLaren-Flint. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers , memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Genesee County Animal Control.
Terry was born in Flint, Michigan on September 13, 1946, the son of Rex and Jacqueline (Duby) LaMay. He married Verna Simms on May 14, 1966, in Flint. Terry was a member of the Flushing Moose Lodge. He loved antique cars and through the years had owned a couple of 1923 T-Buckets and a 1932 Ford Pickup. Terry enjoyed attending car shows. He was a talented handyman and could fix or make anything. He was always lending a helping hand to those in need. Terry also enjoyed woodworking and built his own house in Hale. After retirement, Terry and Verna spent their winters in Florida at the Kings and Queens Mobile Home Park. He was an animal lover, but his greatest joy was when his children and grandchildren would come to visit.
Terry is survived by his wife of 58 years, Verna; daughters, Wendy (Chuck) York, Tammy (Jeff) Porn, Carrie “CJ” (Nate) Burgan; grandchildren, Christopher, Tyler, Savannah, Nathan, Charlie, Winfield; great-grandson, Noah; siblings, Greg (Diane) LaMay, Kim LaMay, Jill (Lou) Blume, Dani LaMay; special nieces, Christine Wood, Monica “Nikki” Mann; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Larry and Ronald LaMay; and his sister, Pam LaMay. |
