Passed away Monday morning, November 25, 2013 at Memorial Healthcare Center in Owosso. Age 75 years.
He was born on January 19, 1938 in Saginaw to the late Frank and Sabina (Angst) Wendling. He married Betty Grnak on June 7, 1958. She survives him.
Gerald retired from Hehr International in 2003. He was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church and also a member of Brothers Fire Band. Gerald enjoyed gardening, yard work and spending time with his loving family, especially his grandchildren.
Those left to cherish Gerald’s memory besides his wife are his children; Carol (Bruce) Gasper of New Lothrop, Colleen (Rob) Ballard of New Lothrop, Brian (Trisha) Wendling of Chesaning and Connie (Steve) Henige of New Lothrop.
Eleven grandchildren; Alex Gasper, Breanna (Tyler) Yaklin, Kelsey Gasper, Randi (Justin) Dickerson, Ryan Ballard, Brodie Ballard, Kalvin Keith, Chaise Henige, Macie Henige, Evan Wendling and Danielle Wendling, two great grandchildren; Langston and Harper Dickerson.
Brothers and sisters; Robert (Del) Wendling and Geraldine (Dale) Bitterman.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers; Art and Phil.
The funeral liturgy will be held on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Maple Grove. 11:00 AM. Fr. T.J. Fleming will officiate with burial in St. Michael Cemetery.
Friends may call the Whelpley-Martin Funeral Home in New Lothrop on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 from 1:00 to 8:00 PM with prayer service at 7:00. And at the Church on Wednesday from 10:00 until the time of service.
