WATSON, Jeffrey Scott went home to his Lord and Savior on August 2, 2024 surrounded by his family, at the age of 77, following a brief battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia.
Jeff was born on February 6, 1947, in Flint, Michigan and graduated from Hamady High School in 1965. Jeff proudly served as a Sergeant in the Army Reserves, demonstrating a commitment to duty and community that he carried throughout his life. His career spanned several key roles, including time at General Motors Proving Grounds, Skaff Carpet, and most recently, Al Serra Auto Plaza, where he loved working for the Serra family.
Jeff was also deeply involved in his spiritual community at Holy Spirit Lutheran Church in Grand Blanc since 1978. Jeff served as an Usher, Director of Church Properties (14 years) and was part of the building committee. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, providing him with strength and comfort.
Known for his love of cars and appreciation for music, Jeff’s hobbies brought joy not only to him but also to those around him, He was a loving husband to his devoted wife of 56 years, Catherine, and a proud father to Michael (Jennifer) Watson, Marci (Mark) Johnson and Brian Watson. He was a cherished grandfather to Miranda, Ava, Ben, and Jack. Jeff was an older brother to Brad Watson and nephew to special uncle, Jim Lees.
He also leaves Prayer Partner of 25 years, Tim Houle. Best friend since high school, Jim Snyder. Good buddy, Roger Black and special work friends, Tracy Ledford, Jim Papatheadore and Dave Carver.
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Gladys Watson and favorite aunt, Phyllis Lees.
His memory will be honored in a service at 12pm Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at Holy Spirit Lutheran Church, 7234 Fenton Road, Grand Blanc, MI 48439 with Reverend Nathan Allen officiating.
Visitation 10am Wednesday at church until the time of the service.
Contributions may be directed to Holy Spirit Lutheran Church.
The family welcomes all who knew Jeff to join them at the service. Jeff’s legacy of kindness, dedication, and community spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
