BRUNER, Nancy Lee (Jensen) came into this world 2 months early on May 25, 1935 to Alfred and Marie (Weyl) Jensen, top of the hill, Henry Street, Flushing, Michigan. Doing it her way, she passed away May 25, 2018 at home on the farm she lived in for 55 years. She started working young at Riverside Lumber owned by her father in Flushing. She graduated from Flushing High School with the class of 1953. Nancy married Philip F. Bruner on October 22, 1955 and they were married for 62 years. Nancy started working for Grandston Hall in 1957 and retired in 1991. She also worked at Gracie’s Country Inn in New Lothrup from 1984 till 2003. Nancy loved her grandchildren, shopping, Casino’s and traveling south to the Carolina’s to see her sister and her family.
Surviving are: Husband, Philip; Children, Diane Bruner, Rick Bruner; Grandson, Michael (Alicia) Bruner; Great Grandson and joy of her life Dean Michael Bruner, Matthew Bruner, Leanne Pratt, Gregory (Faith) Pratt; Sister, Eleanor Lockhart; Sister in law, Sue Mckone; Nieces and Nephews, Linda, Jeff, Cindy, Cathy, Caryn and their families; Lifelong friends and classmates of FHS 1953, Gracie and Hildavi. The family would like to thank Jacci, Dr. VJ and staff, Angelic Home Hospice staff, Anne, Patty, and Stacey for their loving care.
Per Nancy’s wishes cremation has taken place and A Time to Remember will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 from 4-7 PM at Goggin’s Parish Hall in downtown Flushing.
