Dwight S. Gay, 74, of Lincoln, passed away Monday, September 4, 2017 at his home.
Born October 12, 1942, to Durwood and Ruth (Stuhr) Gay in Linden, MI, he was raised there. Dwight served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a longtime resident of Millington, MI, where he owned and operated Gunnell Inc., a company that customized wheelchairs for disabled children. On December 30, 2004, he married Julie Stewart in Florida, and they were residents of Davison, MI. In 2012, they moved to Lost Lake Woods Club, where Dwight enjoyed golfing and fishing. He liked playing cards, especially Gin, and spending time with his family, and his precious feline friends, Max and Winston.
Dwight is survived by his wife, Julie Stewart-Gay, six children, Duane (Josephine) Jorgensen, Teresa (Blair) Willard, David (Katherine) Matthews, Darrin (Nicole) Matthews, Steve Gay, and Derek Gay, 12 grandchildren, Mitchell, Meagen, and Melanie Jorgensen, and Noah, Levi, Judah, Abigail, Josephine, Sam, Isaac, Elia, and Meira Matthews, his sister-in-law, Robin Naugler, his brother-in-law Rick (Laura) Stewart, several nieces and nephews, as well as numerous friends, and golfing and fishing buddies.
Dwight’s family will receive visitors on Sunday, September 10, 2017 beginning at 12:00 PM at the Lost Lake Woods Clubhouse. There will be a brief memorial remembrance at 1:00 with a luncheon to follow.
Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln. Memorial donations are suggested to Hospice of Michigan
