FURZE, Harvey Howard – of Burton, MI, age 78, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 3, 2019. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held 2 PM Sunday, April 14, 2019 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. Visitation will be 2-8 PM Saturday, April 13, 2019 and 12-2 PM Sunday, April 14, 2019. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Kearsley Daly Villa-Eastside Senior Center – to pay it forward.
Harvey and Sandy will be laid to rest together at Evergreen Cemetery following the service.
Harvey was born and raised in Flint, Michigan, son of the late Edgar and Viola (Maynard) Furze. He married Sandra Liquia on September 2, 1961 and she preceded him in death on June 11, 2015.
After 32 years of service, he retired from GM Truck and Bus. He was an active member of the Local 598, where they served the Flint community through the Care & Share Program. After retirement, Harvey and Sandy were snowbirds in Clearwater, Florida. Later moving to the cabin on Secord Lake aka "Tittabawassee Yacht Club, LLC". He was an active member of the Secord Eagles Aerie 4121. He was an avid outdoors man. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, vacationing on his motorcycle and in his motor home with his wife. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and mentor to so many. Harvey was always there for anyone. He enjoyed many, many poker parties through the years with his family, in-laws and friends. He had a canny ability to put a smile on everyone’s face with his "fiction and non-fiction" stories. He loved people and was always eager to serve others. A special thank you to the Kearsley Daly Villa-Eastside Senior Center family, Barb aka Sue, Chris and Dale and the rest of the members. A very special thank you to Esther for putting our needs second and putting our fathers first. Thank you for all the love you gave him. Our family would like to send everyone who knew Harvey a warm, love felt hug... Thank you all for the joy and memories you gave Harvey.
Harvey is survived by his children, Dawn, Todd (Dee Dietz), Beth (Esther Cortez), Amy Pierson; grandchildren, Samantha (Jacob) Daniels, Tyler, Kailey, Jake; great grandchildren, Daniel and Elijah Daniels; many nieces and nephews; special extended family, Boyer’s, LaPenes, Udells and Reeds. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Bud, Dave and Doug; son-in-law, Duane Pierson.
