McCollum, Jim (Jimmy) of Flushing, age 76, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, February 26, 2020. Jimmy was cremated according to his wishes and a there will be a Memorial Service to celebrate his life at a later date. If desired, memorial contributions may be made in his name to a charity of your choice.
Jimmy was born in Flint, Michigan on August 22, 1943 to Clyde and Ethel (Palmer) McCollum. He graduated from Flushing High School and loved owning and operating his business, McCollum Painting. He enjoyed golfing, caring for his five acres of lawn, spending time with family and drinking McDonald’s Cokes.
Jimmy is survived by his siblings: Patricia, Connie, Clyde Jr. (Ann), Robert (Janet), Glenn, Cathy, Ken (Sue), Gary (Nancy), and Mary (Dean); and many, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Judy, his brother, Tommy, and his parents.
Jimmy was very special to his family and friends and we will all miss his kindness, humor and caring ways.
