BEAUCHAMP, Virginia (Blinja) – of Davison, age 83, passed away February 7, 2017 at Genesee Care Center. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Friday, February 10, 2017 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 N. Dayton St., Davison; Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski celebrant. Burial will be in St. John Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-5 & 6-8 PM Thursday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. A Scripture Service will be held at 7 PM Thursday. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the Mass on Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Outreach East or Reverence Hospice.
Virginia was born in Flint, MI on August 21, 1933, daughter of the late Peter and Donna (Drazic) Blinja. She married Earl Beauchamp on June 28, 1952 at St. Mary’s Church and he preceded her in death on October 6, 2009. Virginia graduated from St. Mary’s Flint as Salutatorian in 1951. She then graduated from Mott Community College in 1968 and U of M Flint in 1975 with a degree in Elementary Education. She later graduated from U of M with a Master’s degree in Guidance and Counseling. Virginia worked for Flint Community Schools as a Teacher, Counselor, and Social Worker before retiring in 1991.
Virginia is survived by her daughter, Michele (Craig) Hopkins; son, Michael (Elizabeth) Beauchamp; grandchildren, Nathan Beauchamp, Melissa (Danny) Thwing and Brian Beauchamp; also surviving, Kathleen Miller. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Sarah Marie Chmielewski and brother, George Blinja.
