PILON, Sherrie Yvonne Rodden -- Age 80, of Mt. Morris Michigan, died Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at Hospice House of Shiawassee County in Owosso.
Private service at a later date. Memorial donations are suggested to the Hospice House of Shiawassee County, 2005 E. Copas Rd., Owosso, MI 48867.
Sherrie was born March 21, 1935 to Francis Ellsworth and Dorothy (Howard) Rodden. Sherrie married John Phillip Pilon at Sacred Heart Church in Flint, Michigan on October 25, 1952 by Fr. John Blasko. Together they had four children.
Sherrie had many interests. She enjoyed soil on her hands and the warmth of the sun on her face as she spent hours daily working in her flowerbeds each summer. She spent many hours reading her favorite poems. She enjoyed sewing, painting, writing, puzzle books, and jewelry. Her penmanship was beautiful like her mother's. She had a strong sense of style. Her favorite activity was spending time with her family.
Surviving are: four children John (Marlene Compton) of Mt. Morris, Sheliah (Mike Shepard) of Fenton, Mary (Keith Perior) of Flushing, and Bruce (Melissa Baldridge) of Flint.
She was blessed with 10 grandchildren; Holly Abbott, Kelly Goode, Michael, Arin and Tess Shepard, Jenny Torrey, Keith Perior, Jamey Dorner, Bruce and Amanda Pilon.
Sherrie enjoyed her 13 great grandchildren; Brooklyn Dean, Allison and Johnathan Abbott, Charley Goode, Sidney and Abigail Shepard, Mikala and Ireland Torrey, Kadence and Kallen Perior, McKenzie, Dakota and Hunter Dorner. She is also survived by her brother, Donald of Mt. Morris, and sisters, Judith Smith of Mt. Morris and Diane (Leo) Haring of Owosso.
Sherrie was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, John Pilon, and her parents, Dorothy and Al Rodden, brothers, Sonny and Ed Rodden, and sister Constance Wilcox.
