OLCHAWA, John W. – of Millington, age 59, died Thursday, March 17, 2016 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 3PM Monday, March 21, 2016 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Pastor Ed Emmerling officiating. Cremation to follow. Family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Sunday from 1PM until 7PM and Monday from 1PM until the time of service.
John was born April 22, 1956 in Flint, Michigan to the late Fred J. and Shirley E. (Jones) Olchawa. He married Nancy Bonk October 14, 1983 in Burton. John was employed with Holloway Sand and Gravel for many years. He was a member of Hurley Health and Fitness. John enjoyed auto racing, crossword puzzles, talking on the phone and visiting with family and friends. He loved mowing his lawn and was always around to offer a helping hand.
Surviving are: Wife, Nancy Olchawa of Millington; Stepdaughter, Jenny (Joe) Houston of Mason; Stepson, Jamie Ross of Ishpeming; Grandchildren: Atticus and Emmett Houston; Brother, Kenneth Olchawa of Alabama, Sisters: Dorothy Miller of Farwell and JoAnne (Don) Davis of Harrison; Special friend, Mike Oliver; Sisters in law: Linda Hess and Kathy (Jerry) Arender; Several nieces and nephews; John was preceded in death by his sister, Judith Robinson; Brother, Fred Olchawa Jr. and special friend, Kenneth Elston.
