PAPINEAU, Carrie E. – of Clio, formerly of Montrose, age 83, died peacefully at home on Saturday, October 19, 2024, with family by her side. Funeral services will be held at 11AM Monday, October 28, 2024, at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose. Pastor David Miller officiating. Burial to follow in Montrose Township Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Sunday from 1PM until 8PM, and on Monday from 10AM until the time of service at 11AM. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Carrie was born May 13, 1941, in Hazard, Kentucky, to the late Espie and Nannie (Steele) Davidson. She graduated from Montrose High School with the class of 1957. Carrie married Jerry Papineau on June 6, 1959, and together they welcomed three children, creating many joyful memories before his passing on April 20, 2007. Later, she found companionship with Thomas “Tommy John” Rivera, cherishing their time together until his passing on February 2, 2019. Carrie enjoyed attending car shows and had a passion for music, with a particular fondness for country tunes. Above all, her greatest joy came from spending time with her family. She cherished gatherings of any kind, but birthday celebrations held a special place in her heart. Known for her kind spirit, sweetness, and unwavering support, Carrie was adored by her friends and all who knew her. She will be deeply missed.
Surviving are: Son, Tom (Audrey) Papineau; Daughter, Raeann (Barry) Salter; Grandchildren: Kaley, Candace, Brittany, Shalynn, Courtney, and Sancie; Great grandchildren: Kadon, Briseis, Maddon, Breelynn, Myla, Arra, Lydia, Alice, Kirra, Wayne, Grant, Jonus, Lucio, Marisa, Sophia, Christian, Gabriel, Julian, Adrian, Olivia, and Kayla; Sister, Joyce Wilson; Several loving nieces, nephews, other family members and dear friends. Carrie was also preceded in death by: Son, Don Papineau in 2007; Granddaughter, Erika Papineau-Biskner; Brother-in-law, Bill Wilson.
