STEAGALD, Betty B. – of Clio, age 86, died Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Maple Woods Manor. Funeral services will be held 11AM Monday, January 30, 2017 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Cremation to follow. Family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Sunday from 1-8PM and Monday from 10AM until the time of service at 11AM. Contributions, in memory of Betty may be made to the Clio Cast and Crew.
Betty was born March 25, 1930 in Flint, Michigan to the late Clarence and Josephine (Oom) Bower. She graduated from Grand Rapids Central High School. Betty was employed with State of Michigan Social Services for 20 years before retiring in 1995. She was a founder of the Clio Cast and Crew and very well known for her involvement with the community theater working on set design, directing, stage craft and painting. Betty was a master gardener, gourmet cook, and very accomplished artist. She loved fishing, camping and hunting for morel mushrooms.
Surviving are: Children: Margaret (Hugh) Harmon of Clio, Bruce (Jan) Kapla of Swartz Creek and Toni (Jeff) Beckwith of Genesee; Grandchildren: Elizabeth (Joel) Hickson, Jonathan Harmon, Laura (Brad) Eggert, Carissa Kapla, and Daniel Kapla; 3 great grandchildren: Carter and Courtney Hickson, and Morgan Eggert; Sister in law, Peggy Bower.
