SCOTT, Shirley E. – of Genesee, age 82, passed away Monday, November 5, 2018 at the Pines of Goodrich. Cremation has taken place. A Graveside Service was held Monday, November 12, 2018 at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery; Pastor Karen Williams officiated. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Genesee United Methodist Church, 7190 N. Genesee Rd., Genesee, MI 48437.
Shirley was born in Columbiaville, MI on April 23, 1936, the daughter of the late Donald and Gertrude (Glady) June. She married Clifton Scott on August 7, 1954. He preceded her in death on January 11, 2012. Shirley was a lifelong member of Genesee United Methodist Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed crafting. Shirley was a teacher for 36 years, teaching in the Kearsley and Genesee Schools.
Shirley is survived by her son, Matt; brothers, Gary (Kathy) June and Dean (Susan) June; sister, Linda Ripenbark; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton, and two sons, Jeff and Mitch.
