Alison Lynn Williston (Kivett) — Of Linden, age 57, died unexpectedly at home on Friday, July 5, 2024.

Alison was born in Flint, Michigan on May 22, 1967, the daughter of Daniel Sherman Kivett III and Gail Elaine (McKeon) Kivett. She was a graduate of Powers Catholic High School and worked at EDS for 10 years prior to owning Smooth Steps Dance and Gymnastics in Swartz Creek for over 25 years. On Dec 28, 1984, Alison’s sister, Sue, set her up on a blind date with Brian Williston. They said their vows on July 16, 1994. At the time of her death, Alison and Brian had been married and moving through life together for one week short of 30 years.
Alison and Brian bought a boat for their honeymoon and-- after years of enjoying camping and canoeing with friends, family, and two children-- they moved to Lobdell Lake in Linden, Michigan. Her favorite things to do included being on the water, boating, watching fireworks, campfires, and being social. Her dog, Chloe, was always by her side. Alison was thoughtful and compassionate in every aspect of her life; she shared her creativity with others through her love of dance, making gifts for her family and friends, and adding sparkle, rhinestones, and glitter wherever she could.
She is survived by her husband, Brian Williston; children, Jessie (Bri) Williston and Zach (Stacie) Williston; mother, Gail Kivett; siblings, LeAnn (Brad) James, Suzanne (Robert) Kivett-Huff, Daniel (Erin) Kivett IV, Melanie (Nate) Eashoo, and Niki Gilbert; mother-in-law, Barbara Joan Williston; sisters-in-law, Melanie (Mike) Logsdon and Lindsey (Armi) Williston; brother-in-law, Scott (Michelle) Williston; and step-mother-in-law, Martha Williston; and many cherished nieces, nephews, and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Daniel Sherman Kivett III; nephew, Daniel Sherman Kivett V; and father-in-law, Lawton Thomas Williston.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the National Psoriasis Foundation.
