BROWN, Doris V. – of Clio, age 91, passed away, Saturday August 22, 2020 at her residence. Family will receive friends at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio on Wednesday August 26, 2020 from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM, under Covid 19 and government regulations, only 10 people are permitted in our chapel at one time and masks are required. We will then process to West Vienna Cemetery in Clio, where a graveside service will be held at 1:30 PM.
Doris was born on October 20, 1928 in Gaylord, Michigan to the late Isaac and Linda (Brown) McCleese. She grew up in Gaylord and eventually settled in the Flint and Mt. Morris area. She attended schools in Gaylord and also took classes at Mott Community College in Flint. She married Clarence H. “Brownie” Brown on May 4, 1946 in Gaylord, and he preceded her in death on November 14, 2006. She worked for General Motors at the Fisher Guide at Ternstedt Division, retiring in 1996. She was a very religious person in her Christian faith and was a member of the Moose Lodge #1437 in Flushing. Doris was a collector of a many different things. Her family came first and foremost, and she was a wonderful mother, grandmother and provider.
Surviving are: children, Russell (Suzanne) Brown, Patricia Brown and Timothy (Pam) Brown; grandchildren, Amy Elliott, Michael (Shunda) Abraham, Quin (Phaedra)Bartlett, Russell (Delila) Brown, Annette Brown, Christine Spencer, Jennifer (Josh) Heilman and Heather (Chris) Burgess, 20 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; brother, Glenn (Margie) McCleese, and also by many nieces, nephews and extended family. She is preceded in death by her husband Clarence H. “Brownie” Brown, her son David Earl Brown in 1975, her parents, and many brothers and sisters.
